In FIFA 20, players felt at ease in the stadium, with open spaces providing a great view of the action and fans being able to shout abuse at players as they run into space, but as Donelan puts it, FIFA 22 creates the ultimate football pitch, “with iconic landmarks and the fans singing and dancing along to music as the players run around the pitch.” “Players are able to jump and run, move around the pitch and shift their weight, all in real-time, replicating natural actions to create the ultimate football experience.” “Moving over and around the pitch allows players to control movement, and the team they’re controlling, around the pitch,” explains Colin Donelan, Senior Producer on FIFA 22, “matchday crowds and clubs provide more of a ‘real’ environment.” The developers have innovated on a range of issues faced by players of the game. It’s also creating the first-ever FIFA video games, with the main focus of the game being on the creation of a realistic playing surface.
